How Does a Large Format Cutting Machine Work?
Parameter Setting
First, based on the material type, you need to set parameters such as cutting speed, tool type, and cutting pressure on our control system. If you regularly produce the same product, you can save these parameters as presets for future use.
Material Loading
Next, place the sheet on the worktable. If you choose the automatic feeding system, the machine will automatically feed the sheet into the cutting area. At the same time, the vacuum suction device holds the sheet, preventing it from moving during cutting.
Toolpath Generation
The control system automatically reads your design file. Meanwhile, it optimizes the cutting sequence and path based on the cutting conditions, avoiding defective areas.
CNC Cutting Operation
After the cutting path is optimized, the machine runs along the programmed cutting path. This operation is controlled by the CNC system, ensuring cutting accuracy and dimensional consistency. When cutting is finished, you simply remove the finished piece.
How to Choose a Suitable Large Format Cutting Machine?
Choose Based on Material
Flexible materials such as leather and fabric can burn easily under heat. Therefore, we recommend using a large-format oscillating knife cutter. This machine uses a mechanical cutting method that protects the material from heat damage.
If you need to engrave large acrylic sheets or advertising boards, a laser cutting machine is a good choice. It produces very fine cut edges and is suitable for engraving small patterns.
Choose Based on Size
When choosing a cutting machine, the worktable should be larger than your material’s maximum size. This allows you to place the entire sheet on the table and complete cutting in one pass.
For materials with a width of 1 meter, it is recommended to choose a worktable that is at least 1.1 meters wide. If the worktable is too small, materials may need to be repositioned multiple times, which reduces cutting accuracy.
